THE THREE PİLLARS
The goal of the ICiB is to explore themes of cultural integration and celebrate variety. Activities fall into three main categories or pillars, roughly defined by the ICiB space itself: Art (visual culture) corresponds to the events in the gallery; Knowledge to the library; and Opinion to the conference hall and seminar rooms. The ICiB aims, as far as possible, to maintain an open-door policy, hosting contributions from artistic and academic communities throughout Europe in conjunction with their counterparts in Istanbul. Exhibitions and activities emphasize existing ties between Istanbul and other European partners. In addition, the ICiB sponsors and helps coordinate events at other venues.
